It’s been a week since I had a bilateral skin-saving, nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate commencement of reconstruction via tissue expanders above the muscle. This video reveals what it looks like now.
It includes some discussion of the lymph node excision, drainage tubes, and the incisions where the breasts were removed and the tissue expanders were inserted.
I talk about the impact of the tissue expanders on my physical body as well as on my emotional wellness. I cover my drainage tubes visually and reference another video that I made (link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzY2zO7SK4M )
I also make reference to the nuclear material injected into my breast on surgery day. The link to that segment of video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLu6IAXPb0E#t=4m36s )
